Terms of Service

Welcome to MemoirTalk. By downloading or using the MemoirTalk iOS application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MemoirTalk, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

MemoirTalk is an AI companion app that helps you record and preserve your life story through friendly voice conversation. The service includes:

AI-guided voice conversations that capture your memories
Automatic generation of written stories and a chaptered memoir
An optional character portrait, "The Person I Am," built from what you share (with your consent — see our Privacy Policy)
PDF export of your memoir (Premium)
Sharing your stories with family members you invite (Premium)

3. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the life stories, memories, and personal content you share through MemoirTalk ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display Your Content solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use MemoirTalk for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the app or its backend
Impersonate another person or submit false information
Generate content that is defamatory, harmful, or violates third-party rights

5. Subscriptions and Payments

MemoirTalk offers a free tier (30 minutes of conversation, one time) and an optional Premium subscription ($12.99/month) that adds 3 hours of conversation each month, PDF export, and sharing. Premium members may also purchase additional conversation-time packs.

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store using Apple's in-app purchase system. Billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you may manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.

6. Intellectual Property

The MemoirTalk app, its design, logo, and AI-generated formatting are owned by MemoirTalk. Your Content remains yours. MemoirTalk's name, branding, and technology may not be copied or used without written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

MemoirTalk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be perfectly accurate. It is your responsibility to review generated content before sharing or publishing it.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MemoirTalk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Privacy

Your use of MemoirTalk is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Termination

You may stop using MemoirTalk at any time and delete your account via the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation and, if unresolved, binding arbitration or the courts of the jurisdiction where MemoirTalk operates.
